1 The Power of Systems Architecting
Presented by Jon Wang and Followed by a Panel Discussion with Shawn Simmons & Bob Scheurer Systems continue to become more complex in both their development and employment. As systems engineers, it is becoming increasingly difficult to clearly connect the dots between the problem definition and technology solution. By applying emerging techniques in Systems Engineering, however, a pathway can seen which transforms customer requirements from ideas and possibilities into a balanced System Architecture. Jon’s presentation will introduce Systems Architecting techniques which enable better management of uncertainty, complexity, and technological change. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion into ways for institutionalizing these objectives. Jon Wang is a Boeing engineer involved with coupling systems architecting techniques with emerging systems engineering tools for developing successful systems. He along with colleagues Bob Scheurer and Shawn Simmons work on a team for improving Systems Engineering Tools and Processes at Boeing. Date: Wednesday, 7 December 2005 Location: Boeing Bldg 100, Room 2E St. Louis, MO ( Airport Rd. and McDonnell Blvd) Networking: 11:00 Presentation: 11:30-12:30 INCOSE Members: No Charge Non-Members: $5.00 (Lunch Contribution) No reservation needed, but please call or Bill Schoening at or if you plan to attend to establish a head count, obtain badges for non-Boeing attendees, or plan teleconferencing.
