Associate in Arts BA in Communication Studies (59 credits) Department of Communication Studies College of Social & Behavioral Science and Social Work Why study Communication? Effective communication not only underpins aspects of your professional and personal life, but is also essential in your career. Communication Studies is a valuable degree as our students are engaged in understanding effective communication theory, methods, and practice. This includes speeches, from creation to delivery, newsletter development, website creation, blogging, and many aspects of persuasion. CMST faculty designed this degree to offer you an exciting and fulfilling educational experience while simultaneously preparing you for a changing professional world. Career Opportunities Students who graduate with the BA Communication Studies find positions in advertising, management, education, journalism, social and human services, broadcasting, health care, international relations and negotiations, design, and public relations. CMST graduates are actively involved in shaping the way we communicate in organizations, through various technologies, and within political, intercultural, social, and public settings.
