3. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
Executive branch of the government
Responsible for enforcing laws promulgated by the legislative branch of the government
Works with the Board of Health which has the authority to promulgate rules for the trauma system

4. CDPHE cont.
The department is responsible for enforcing rules based on the state laws.
The division offers technical assistance and education to maintain designation status
The division provides a documented public review process

5. Civics Lesson Legislature makes laws
Colorado Board of Health makes rules based on those laws
CDPHE enforces rules and provides technical assistance

6. Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (EMTS players)
SEMTAC – State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council
RETAC – Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Councils
