Hopefully you will have already been onto the welcome microsite which has been set up to provide all the information you need about starting university. The site gives advice about what you need to do on arrival and contains important information, particularly for overseas students in relation to the Visa Check-In process.

4 ID Cards Apply online, deliveries on Tuesday’s and Friday’s
For ID Cards to have been ready for you to collect today, you had to have enrolled and applied for your card online by the 15th September. If you haven’t already applied for your ID Card, please go to the ‘are you ready’ and click on the link to apply for your ID card. International students need to attend the Visa, Passport and Identity Check-In at Highfield before they can enrol and apply for their ID card. International students need to attend Visa Check-In

Log in to SUSSED and click on the Students tab SUSSED is the university intranet site and will be a useful resource during your degree Click on the Students tab which will take you to a dedicated page for students where you can find lots of links to useful information and services, including: Updating your contact details Paying your tuition fees Accessing the library and Student Union web sites Receiving your assignment marks

It is important that you check this account regularly and use this account to contact members of staff or teams within the University. 8 Enabling Services Advice and support for students who have disabilities, health issues or specific learning difficulties Registration Sessions in WSA Café: Phone: Tuesday 22 Sep & Thursday 24 September Enabling Services Drop-In, WSA Cafe Monday ‘Drop In’ 10.00am pm Dyslexia and Disability practitioners on site Enabling Services encompasses a wide variety of support for students who have disabilities, health issues or specific learning difficulties.  Their expert team can provide advice and support relating to your studies throughout your time at University.

9 Tier 4 Visa and Attendance Monitoring
All Tier 4 Visa students are required to attend a registration event to ‘check-in’. Friday 25th September, Building 58 Highfield Campus. Shuttle bus departs WSA every two hours. To comply with terms of Tier 4 Visa, MA students must attend for the full duration of the programme (entire 12 months). Leave can only be taken during the advertised vacation periods at Christmas and Easter. No other leave will be permitted until after your programme end date unless for exceptional circumstances. Request form available from Student Office. Must be authorised by Pathway Leader.

10 Tier 4 Visa and Attendance Monitoring
Registers will be taken by lecturers, and attendance monitored by the Student Office. Tier 4 Visa students additionally monitored for compliance reasons. Sickness should be reported to your tutor and pathway leader (if a different person) In the case of minor illness of up to five days, you should fill out a self- certification form and submit to the Student Office. For longer periods, a Doctor’s note is required.
