Quick write Write down everything that comes to mind when you think about gender roles in dating… This information can be firsthand knowledge, things you’ve been taught by your parents or things you’ve read about or seen. You don’t have to write in complete sentences or thoughts… bullet points or phrases will work just fine. The idea is to write down as much as you can on this topic in 5 minutes. Day 1

Now add into your write what you have learned from “Taming” about such roles… what are the expectations of men and women in Shakespeare’s time? How is that different or similar to what you originally wrote concerning modern dating and gender roles? Add, delete or revise your original ideas while adding in the new things you’ve learned from “Taming”. Day 2

You will have two minutes to add, delete or correct anything your have written in light of new information gained through out most recent reading of “Taming”. Day 3

One thing that surprised me about gender roles and dating in Shakespeare’s time was _________________________________ (this should be a general statement).
