October 3 - 7 Flashy: gaudy and bright or a show-off
Parents, I hope you are well rested from Fall Break. We are looking forward to jump back into things this week. More importantly, we are glad to have testing out of the way. Please make sure your child is reading for at least 25 minutes each night. If you can’t read with your child occasionally at night, at least try to get involved in discussing what your child is reading. That discussion promotes a deeper understanding of the story and you may be able to provide insight into the story that will help strengthen their comprehension. It also will give you a good idea if your child is understanding what they are reading. Flashy: gaudy and bright or a show-off Bolted: ran quickly Noticed: observed or saw Victory: to win and event or championship Measly: little or weak Perseverance: to never give up Dates to Remember: Oct. 7 Comprehension/Vocabulary Quiz Math: Multiplication Strategies Content: Economics Reading: Fables, Folktales and Fairy Tales Writing: Opinion Writing
