1 A B C D Figure S3: DiO6(3) staining of mitochondrial networks in primary prostate tumor organ cultures. (A) Epithelial cells stained with DiO6(3) following exposure to 30 µM EGCG for 1 hr; (B) fibroblasts stained with DiO6(3) and Dox following exposure to 30 µM EGCG plus 2 µM Dox for 6 hr. Note EGCG induced vesiculation of the mitochondria in epithelial cells (green), but not in fibroblasts. Dox stained the lysosomes red in fibroblasts. (C and D) H&E-stained thin sections of (C) untreated and (D) EGCG-treated (50 µM overnight) organ cultures of GS 6 human prostate cancer showing that epithelial cells populate the lumen of control tissues (C), whereas the lumens are largely empty and only basal cells remain in organ tissues treated with 50 µM EGCG o.n. (D).
