Ecuador: located in South America

Foods vary from region to region. People from the coast prefer fish, beans, and plantains and those from the mountainous regions prefer meat, rice, and white hominy mote. The most important and main meal to Ecuadorians is lunch.

-Majority of the population is Mestizo. -It is split up into 4 different regions: the Costa (Coast), the Sierra( Highlands/Andes Mtns.), El Oriente (Amazon Region), and the Galapagos Islands. -The Equator line runs through the capital in Quito.

-Most people are Roman Catholic, about 95% the others are Christians. -The main language is Spanish, many speak Amerindian languages such as Kichwa, the Ecuadorian dialect of Quechua.
