WHAT? What is a Senior Promotion? Senior promotion refers to promotion to the academic ranks of Associate Professor and full Professor .

WHAT? Promotion is not granted as a reward for long-term service, but rather to recognize those who have excelled in specific aspects of the academic mission. Your academic activities (from the date of your last promotion) should showcase impact, importance and innovation at a national or international level.

What? The successful candidate for promotion will be
expected to have established a wide reputation in his or her field of interest, to be deeply engaged in scholarly work, and to show him or herself to be an effective teacher.

Wednesday February 8, 2017 This workshop provides an in-depth review of the criteria, steps, process and timeline as well as parts of the senior promotion application dossier The workshop will include an interactive lecture, small group discussions and videos Receive a senior promotion binder to immediately start preparing your application Workshop #1 Tuesday, March 7, 2017 This workshop provides a more detailed look at identifying excellence or competence in each of four areas (research, CPA, teaching and education, administrative service) as well as identifying your five scholarly pieces of work Time will be dedicated to the Senior Promotion Pre-Application process Guest speakers Workshop #2
