Wait a minute! You said “fun and interesting”! Museums are BORING!!!!!

Why the Museum Won’t Be Boring
We will have special guides to tell us the stories behind the art. We will be allowed in the museum before it opens. There are unique, cool, beautiful things here—promise!!! We will only be at the museum for 90 minutes.

Special Guides Special guides called “docents” will lead us in small groups around the collection. The docents will tell us stories about the art. The docents will answer all your questions about the things you see.

VIP Treatment As ELI students, you will be allowed in the museum before it opens to the public. This means that: It should not be crowded. You can get a good look at everything.

Cool Stuff Have you ever seen:

Short Visit We will visit the museum for only 90 minutes or so.
Then if the weather is rainy, we will eat lunch at the museum and let you walk around the cool downtown area for the afternoon. If the weather is nice, we will then re-board our buses and go to…

The Tidal Basin You can have a picnic. You can rent paddleboats.
You can visit other nearby memorials. The cherry blossoms might also just be starting to bloom…

Logistics Meet in front of the Starbucks next to the ELI.
Be there at 9:15 AM, ready to board the bus. Bring cameras and a bagged lunch. Wear comfortable walking shoes. You will be back at GMU by 3:00 PM. Remember: attendance will be taken! Only ELI students; no family or friends.
