1 These are all good questions… let us get you some answers!
Negotiations What does negotiations mean? How do they work? Do all insurance networks negotiate? What is the negotiation timeline? When do I see results? These are all good questions… let us get you some answers! Five Lakes Professional Services | | © Proprietary and confidential.

2 1) What does negotiations mean?
Our primary goal is to increase your revenue. We have several ways of bringing this goal to fruition, and a very high success rate. Negotiating your contract with insurance companies is one manner in which we can help you increase the reimbursement rate from insurance companies. 3 2) How do they work? In a generalized series of steps, our negotiations department follows the below flow chart to complete your negotiations. Gather your top 20 codes. Reach out to insurance companies. Request an increase in fees. Regular status update requests with companies while we wait for a response. Receive a new, updated fee schedule. Rerun the new fee schedule in your analysis. Relay the information to you. Make a decision about accepting new fees. Sign and submit paperwork to accept new fees. Get new fees for you to insert into your software and an effective date. Five Lakes Professional Services | | © Proprietary and confidential.

4 3) Do all insurance networks negotiate?
Not all insurance companies negotiate. Some negotiate your top 20 codes, others negotiate a higher fee schedule in general. Depending on your contracting status, you may be ineligible at this time for negotiations. Negotiations can only occur every 2-3 years Five Lakes Professional Services | | © Proprietary and confidential.

5 4) What is the negotiations timeline?
The timeline for negotiations varies, and can be lengthy. Depending on the network, plan on 4-12 weeks before we get a negotiated fee schedule back and run it in your analysis. From there, if you plan to accept the new fees, there will be paperwork to sign before we get an effective date. If you are unhappy with the updated fees we get back from the insurance companies, we will attempt to continue our efforts with the insurance companies. 6 5) When do I see results? Our results driven negotiations process is highly effective in increasing your revenue, but like many good things, the reward does not come immediately. We measure your revenue growth on a quarterly basis. Within one year after your negotiations acceptance, you’ll have experienced the full effects of the negotiations. You will enjoy the full effects of your Five Lakes negotiations in perpetuity. We will continue monitoring networks that would not negotiate. 7 All the conventional rules of dental insurance are changing…and we don’t know everything that has happened, is happening or will happen. We cannot therefore guarantee outcomes. Likewise, we are not responsible for lost patients, lost revenue, lost potential revenue, unhappy staff, etc. We don’t guarantee that every insurance company or any insurance company will negotiate. We are here to help optimize insurance participation and we don’t charge enough to remedy the above. That said, we certainly will own any mistakes we make along the way. Rest assured that we will give our best efforts. Although care has been taken, Five Lakes assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and reliability of the information provided.
