Lake County Schools We Believe Vision Statement Mission Statement

Mission Statement The mission of the Lake County Schools is to provide every student with individual opportunities to excel. We Believe Education is the foundation for everyone’s future. Education is a lifelong process. All students can learn. Students should be civic-minded and embrace future roles in the community. Parents/guardians, community, and schools are partners in a student’s education. Providing a safe, resource-filled learning environment is essential. Students will graduate prepared for work and postsecondary education.

Bell Ringer: Turn to your partner and discuss how you use iPads in your classroom, or how you wished you use iPads in your classroom. Common Language: swipe, minimize, screen capture, import, export, PDF writer, apps for learning Agenda: Gradual Release I DO: Survey participants using Insight360 to evaluate the level of technology integration currently implement. WE DO: Discuss what an integrated classroom looks like. YOU DO: Make a prioritized list of where where participants want to begin implantation. Learning Goals: Teachers will learn how to use iPads for student learning. Benchmarks: TEAM Domain 2 Element 46: Use of Available Technology TEAM Domain: 2 Element 44: Attention to Established Content Standards Objective: Through collaboration with colleagues, teachers will be able to devise a plan to implement using iPads in the classroom for learning. Summarizing Activity: Survey participants using Edmodo to evaluate participants’ new level of implementation. Essential Question: What does using technology for learning look like? Next Steps: Identify the one place you plan on beginning the implementation.

Teachers will be able to guide students in selecting appropriate apps for particular learning activities. Score 3.0 The participant, without major errors or omissions, will understand: How to teach a lesson with digital devices in the students’ hands How to prepare lessons for students using digital devices 2.0 There are no major errors or omissions regarding the simpler details and processes. The participant will understand: How to select an appropriate app for the particular learning activity 1.0 With help, a partial understanding of some of the simpler details and processes and some of the more complex ideas and processes.
