IMAGINE IT Stories are introduced on Monday
Vocabulary is selected from the weekly story Students will be tested on Friday Comprehension test is used to assess child’s understanding of the story Spelling: Words given on Monday and tested on Friday.

Novel Study Students will be grouped to work on novels according to reading ability Some Selected Novels: Because of Winn Dixie Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe TJ The Green Book Chocolate Fever

How Can Parents Help? Ask your child questions about what they’re reading Who’s in the story? What is happening in the story? Where does the story take place? When does a problem occur? How does the story end? Why did the author write this story?

Selecting Books From The Library
Rule of Thumb: If they miss 5 words or more on a page the book is too challenging for them.

Summer Reading Selections
Books will be available May 3, 2012 at the PSE Barnes and Noble Book Fair in the Arboretum from 3:00-7:00pm
