Continuously synchronizes the user’s mailbox and address book to a local file. Constant, always-on, low latency network connection to Exchange. Users require access to when disconnected from the network or when link is latent. First-time start-up is faster for the user. Ongoing user experience is directly related to the quality of the network link (bandwidth/latency) to Exchange online. In non-persistent environments search index and cache file are rebuild. Unless the cache file is redirected to a persistent store. Mailbox data is only cached in memory and never written to disk.
