The Mining Industry in Mexico
PRODUCTIVE LINKAGES AND DIVERSIFICATION The Mining Industry in Mexico Mining contributes around 3.9 % of GDP. The geological potential of the country, coupled with the dynamics of investment observed in the sector, is indicative of great business opportunities for this industry. It is important to note that average Foreign Direct Investment levels, for the period 2013 and 2016 amounted to around 4,976 million dollars, and in 2017 is expected a total of $5,532 million dollars.

PRODUCTIVE LINKAGES AND DIVERSIFICATION Information and Transparency of Mining Resources Geological information is generated by the Mexican Geological Survey, through the application of cutting-edges technologies, its Geoscience Databank called GeoInfomex, which promotes interest in investment for exploration of mining projects.

Legal Certainty PRODUCTIVE LINKAGES AND DIVERSIFICATION Mexico´s institutions and the national regulatory framework guarantees property rights, protects the operation of productive activities and ensures transparency in terms of rights, procedures and obligations. Formal Corporation of Academy, Private Industry and Governments The linkage provides the basis of collaboration among Academia, Private initiative and Governments with the purpose of promoting the economic development of regions and entities related to mining through financing, training and technical assistance.

Mining Clusters PRODUCTIVE LINKAGES AND DIVERSIFICATION Mining clusters have settled as a non-profit civil associations by industrialist workes, mining suppliers, academia, research centers and by governments. Its main purpose is to strengthen the mining industry, in accordance to: (a) Development of Local Suppliers; (b) Implementation of Innovation and Technology in Processes; (c) Increase Industrial Safety; (d) Workforce Development; (e) Attraction of Investment; (f) Business, Educational and Government Links and (g) Sustainable mining. Promotion and Support to Entrepreneurs and Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Companies The National Institute for Development of the Small and Medium-Size Entrepreneur promoting the strengthening, creation and consolidation of micro, small and medium-sized companies; fostering the growth of companies from micro to small, from small to medium and from medium to large-sized; and their successful and competitive insertion within global markets. Such actions are taking through financing schemes and approached to productive activities.

Industrial Promotion of Local Productive Chains
PRODUCTIVE LINKAGES AND DIVERSIFICATION It is a Program/Fund where strategies are defined for the industrial development of local productive chains and for the promotion of direct investment within the hydrocarbon and electric industries. Operation is verified by the Public Trust to Promote the Development of Suppliers and National Contractors of the Energy Industry. Promoting Strategic Technological Basis of Industrial Sectors The National Program for the Development of the Software and Innovation Industry encourage strategic industrial sectors to contribute to the creation of innovation ecosystems, which is aimed to support companies in the Information Technology (IT), so that they increase their competitiveness at national and international level and ensure their growth in the long-term.

PRODUCTIVE LINKAGES AND DIVERSIFICATION Industrial Competitiveness The Program for Industry Productivity and Competitivity encourages an increase in productivity of companies with actions that contribute to the availability of specialized workforce, to improve the execution of the processes and the qualities of the companies and products through specialized certifications.
