2 Week Summer Training General Training (GT)
This course is an introduction to summer training. It gives the participants a little taste of the cadet summer training centre (CTC) life, survival, leadership, citizenship, drill, aviation, music, marksmanship, fitness and aerospace training. 3 Week Summer Training Basic Drill and Ceremonial Course (BDCC)
The aim of the training is to prepare cadets to perform the role of a peer leader while building upon the leadership, drill and ceremonial knowledge and skills learned through the squadron program. 3 Week Summer Training Basic Survival Course (BSC)
The aim of the training is to further develop basic survival skills in cadets and inspire them to pursue specialist training in this subject area. This will allow them to participate as a skilled junior cadet in survival training as part of the squadron program. 3 Week Summer Training Basic Fitness and Sports Course (BFSC)
The aim of the training is to prepare cadets to perform the duties of a Basic Fitness and Sports Assistant while continuing to develop personal fitness and healthy living skills. Pre-Requisites Level Completed Level 2 Age Training Locations Cadet Training Center (CTC) Cold Lake

The aim of the training is to further develop the fundamentals of aviation in cadets and inspire them to pursue specialist training in this subject area. Pre-Requisites Level Completed Level 2 Age Training Locations Cadet Training Center (CTC) Cold Lake

3 Week Summer Training Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace Course (BATAC) The aim of the training is to further develop the fundamentals of aerospace, airport operations and aircraft manufacturing and maintenance in cadets and inspire them to pursue specialist training in some or all of the subject areas. The aim of the training is to develop the music proficiency of cadets and prepare them to support their squadron bands and related music activities. Pre-Requisites Level Completed Level 2 Age Training Locations Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Quadra (Comox, BC)

6 Week Summer Training Drill and Ceremonial Instructor Course (DCIC)
The aim of the training is to develop a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge required to be an instructor and team leader for drill and ceremonial activities Pre-Requisites Level Completed Level 3 Age Training Locations Vernon CTC (Vernon, BC)

6 Week Summer Training Survival Instructor Course (SIC)
The aim of the training is to develop a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge required to be an instructor and team leader for aircrew survival activities conducted at the squadron, regionally directed activities and/or as a staff cadet at a CTC. 6 Week Summer Training Fitness and Sports Instructor Course (FSIC)
The aim of the training is to develop a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge required to perform the role of a fitness and sports instructor and a team leader for fitness and sports activities conducted at the squadron, during regionally directed activities and/or as a staff cadet at a CTC. 6 Week Summer Training Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor Course (ARMIC) The aim of the training is to develop individual air rifle marksmanship and summer biathlon specialty skills while reinforcing and further developing the leadership and instructional techniques skills, and preparing cadets to support these two specialty activities at the sqn, during regionally directed activities and/or as a staff cadet at a CTC. The aim of the training is to develop a specialist with the skills and subject matter knowledge required to be an instructor and team leader for aviation activities within the Air cadet program. The aim will be accomplished through practical, hands-on learning modules that will reinforce theoretical notions. Application Process - Regional
Talk to your parents Fill in the Application Form and return to Administration by No Later Than (NLT) 1 November Administration will put all the applications in a spreadsheet Training will rank all of the applications based on attendance, drill / dress and deportment Commanding Officer will have final decision on ranking Applications will be entered into Fortress Region will start making offers approximately 1 April Offers will be ed to address on application Offers need to be signed and returned Cadets not initially selected will remain on Standby

Hand in Notice of Intent by 10 Oct 17 Comply with schedule of returns on the reverse of Notice of Intent Fill in the Regional Camp Application with the national courses applied for You may apply for Regional Courses as well as a back up Power/Glider candidates must already be in ground school Attend Interviews in Feb 2018

Do’s & Don’ts of Summer Camp
If family summer plans, the squadron as soon as possible (after applying) to cancel the application If selected for summer camp and you want to pick up your son/daughter at the end, you need to notify the summer camp ASAP, if you know before 30 Jun, notify the squadron If you haven’t received your travel orders prior to 2 weeks before the course, the squadron

Do’s & Don’ts of Summer Camp
If travel orders include airline travel, DO NOT check-in online. Movements staff will check in the cadets at the airport and take care of luggage fees Do not modify travel orders on your own, exceptions can be made to accommodate parents, contact the squadron for assistance We are only offered certain summer camp serials, it is very hard to move Altering travel arrangements
