Uterine wall thickening can show anteroposterior asymmetry, and here the posterior wall is thicker. In this image, the endomyometrial junction is also poorly defined. Last, a “shutter blind” effect is thought to reflect endometrial gland invasion into the subendometrial tissue and appears as echogenic linear striations.
