Transvaginal sagittal uterine image displaying globular uterine enlargement and heterogeneous myometrial texture. Uterine wall thickening can show anteroposterior asymmetry, and here the posterior wall is thicker. In this image, the endomyometrial junction is also poorly defined. Last, a “shutter blind” effect is thought to reflect endometrial gland invasion into the subendometrial tissue and appears as echogenic linear striations.
