What does program planning accomplish?
“Program planning is evidence-based and future-oriented; program goals and objectives should guide assessment of student learning outcomes, faculty hiring, student recruitment and retention efforts, research, scholarship or creative activities (RSCA) by the faculty, and interaction with the community.” (Program Planning Guidelines)

The process of program planning
Self-Study Semester One Meet with Dean to discuss program Gaither materials and complete self study Submit to dean for evaluation and feedback External Review Semester Two Reviewer selected and two day interview process on campus Reviewer submits report with summary and recommendations Review by PPC Semester Three PPC evaluates and provides recommendations to Provost Action plan set in consultation with Provost and program

Assessment of Student Learning Analysis of required data elements (URM vs Non-URM Comparisons) Enrollment, retention, and graduation rates Headcounts in sections FTES, FTEF, SF, Tenure Density Faculty Profile Program resources Space and Infrastructure Staff library Resource Management Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Other Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Challenges High Impact Practices Gifts, donations, endowed chairships Anything not listed elsewhere Department Action Plan
