Getting the “righteous” lost, so that they can be saved!
2
Matthew 5:27-28 You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
3
Matthew 5:21-22 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, `Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.
4
Mat 5:17) “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets
Mat 5:17) “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18) “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot (Smallest letter)or one tittle (smallest stroke in a Hebrew letter) will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
5
20) “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:48) “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
6
The same Jesus who taught those words above, taught these as well: John1:17) For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
7
Gal 4:4) But when the fullness of the time had come,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5) to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
8
Rom 8:3) For what the law could not do (Why?) in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
9
4) that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us
John 4:34) Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete/finish his work. 17:4) I glorified you on earth by completing/finishing the work you gave me to do.
10
30) When he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, “It is completed/finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
11
22) For it is written that Abraham had two sons:
Gal 4:21) Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22) For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. The old covenant, the Law The new covenant the Spirit
12
23) But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman (was born) through promise, 24) which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants:
13
30) Nevertheless what does the Scripture say
30) Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” 31) So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. Gal 5:18) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
14
Heb 8:6) But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. 7) For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. 8) Because finding fault with them, He says:
15
“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah– 9) “not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD.
16
10) “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17
11) “None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. 12) “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
18
is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
13) In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
19
Heb 9:16) For where there is a testament (covenant, will), there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17) For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.
20
Heb 7:11) Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron?
21
12) For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law.
18) For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness,
22
through which we draw near to God.
19) for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
25
Rom 7:5) For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 1 Cor 15:56) The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
26
Gal 3:13) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
27
Jesus is the last Adam and just like the first Adam, all under this new Adam are a part of a race of men who are new creations in Christ Jesus. The old Adam is dead, crucified with Christ. Since the cross, this new race of people are being prepared for a Kingdom and a new Heaven and earth.
28
Two races of men; One dead, one alive. One is flesh, one is Spirit
Two races of men; One dead, one alive. One is flesh, one is Spirit. One under law, one under grace. One under the old covenant, one under the new.
