It is considered that rabbit’s paw brings good luck in Great Britain. The rabbit is the symbol of kindness, cosines, presents and protection. In Belinichi such a shield is the God’s mother with baby in arms. According to the legend, the foundation of this town in 1240 was connected with marvelous midnight shining (Belinichi-white night) of the sacred image of the Blessed Virgin. It was brought from Kiev to Belarusian land by monks. That’s why it is not by poor accident that God’s mother with a baby in her arms in golden clothes was depicted on the emblem of Belinichi.
