4 HathiTrust Began in 2008 as a collaboration of the universities of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (now the Big Ten Academic Alliance) and the University of California system To establish a repository to archive and share their digitized collections. Quickly expanded to include additional partners. Aim: To build a comprehensive archive of published literature from around the world and to develop shared strategies for managing and developing their digital and print holdings in a collaborative way For its members, and as a public good to users around the world. Currently: Over 15 million items in HathiTrust - February 22, 2017.

5 Copyright Review Management System (CRMS)
The Copyright Review Management System (CRMS) is to improve access to limited view volumes where legally possible. Since 2008, over 50 reviewers at 22 libraries have reviewed 600,000 items, determining that more than 320,000 are no longer protected by copyright and have entered the public domain. This is approximately 5.7% of the current 5.6 million volumes that are fully viewable in HathiTrust. Supervisor orientation 17Jan2017 pdf

7 Copyright Review of US Publications dated 1923-1963
Works published in the United States between 1923 and 1963 are the basis of the current project, which we began reviewing in 2017. Scope : Monographs published in the United States in the years Candidate pool : 81,300 Staffing : 26 reviewers Reviewer commitments : Through December 2017
