Flu Virus: Studies indicate if a pregnant woman contracts the flu during the 1st trimester there is an increased risk of developing schizophrenia in the child by 700%, flu in the 3rd trimester increases the risk by 300 % approximately 14% of schizophrenia cases seem to have been caused by the influenza virus during pregnancy.
