4 Role of the Faculty affairs office
We are responsible for implementation of and compliance with the contract, policies and procedures related to faculty employment. We oversee processes related to faculty employment including: Recruitment Evaluation Compensation Training Leaves of Absence Administrative Appointments Employee Relations We are your “HR” office, and we are here to support your needs as an employee throughout your career.

6 Work periods The annual Academic pay calendar is posted online:
Faculty are expected to be available for duties on all work days indicated on the pay calendar, whether teaching or not. work days for Academic-year Faculty are indicated in blue. work days for 12-month faculty are all weekdays with the exception of campus holidays.

7 Attendance Guidelines on attendance are located here:
s/Sick_Leave_01_2016.pdf If you are absent from class, submit this form: 3-Absence-Class-Cancellation_FORM.pdf you accrue one day of paid sick leave per month, which can be used for absences related to illness or medical appointments for yourself or A family member. you have one paid personal holiday per year, which can be used with advance approval of the department chair. 12-month faculty earn paid vacation days.

8 Leaves of absence You may need a longer period off work:
Professional leave Personal leave Medical leave for your own condition family medical leave to care for a family member Parental leave (birth and adoption) Contact faculty affairs at to see what leave type(s) and benefits may be applicable to your situation. You will be eligible for your first sabbatical leave after 6 years of service.

10 Assorted benefits Public service loan forgiveness Fee waiver program
waives part-time tuition and some fees for classes at any Csu campus Can be used for you, spouse, or dependent child Public service loan forgiveness Your Csulb Faculty Position is qualifying employment The remaining balance of your qualifying student loans after 10 years of service can be waived if you are repaying your loans during that time cancellation/public-service

12 PARKING INFORMATION CSULB uses License Plate Recognition. You may purchase a virtual permit online: A 12-month permit allows year-round parking, including Intersession and Summer, at a monthly rate of $15.39. An Academic Year permit allows parking during semesters only at a monthly rate of $11.53. A daily pass is $8. A summer pass is $46.32. The lots will not be this empty when classes start.
