Arrow shows both front and back of diverter connection. The rubber washer* on the front is acting as a “Splash Guard”. The nipple on the back not only provides the conversion from thread to Pex but synchs the diverter to the wall as well (Wall thickness up to ¼” thick will work ).

* Front washer will be 60 Diameter Neoprene Washer with pressure sensitive adhesive one side. OD ID, to fit snug around threaded pipe. TH   1/16, Color will be white.
Must thread in far enough to “seat” nipple against diverter.

Use hole saws of the following sizes: For (A) Diverter: 7/8” or 0.875” Diameter For (B) Mushroom: 1 ¼” or 1.25” Diameter White (E) washer on front wall of diverter, Black (F) washer on back wall of diverter. For back of Mushroom use (G) spacer Teflon Tape should be used when connecting the Mushroom to the Tee
