1 WF-RepTool day 2016 Questions raised on: Output / final fractions
summary by Renate Gabriel

2 Output / final fractions
Questions raised: Many output fractions, different names, how can I choose, recognize them more easily? What about output fractions at stock? What about end-of-waste fractions?

3 Many output fractions, different names, …
output fractions follow the structure of treatment EWC (LoW) for giving structure  WF-RepTool codes 16 (13, 14, 15) – sorting dismantling fractions 19 10 shredder fractions 19 12 fractions after further separation appliances (e.g. as shredder input ) to fractions of ... size: parts (dismantling), pieces (shredding, separation), fines purity: ‘very mix’ of materials, ‘not pure’, ‘pure’ [ composition] fraction name on base of main component  use for searching e.g. iron, copper, plastics, glass ....

4

5 Many output fractions … how can I choose, recognize them more easily?
... fraction name on base of main component  use for searching option to search by part of the name code starting with ... (16, 19 10, 19 12) option to search in short list [... if you don’t find, check in long list] option to search in material grouping / code grouping

6 Output fractions at stock?
Case A) You know where fraction will be delivered to ... if regular deliveries (e.g. delivery shortly after period): insert ‘as delivered’, with results from last delivery; (+ remark ‘on stock’ in [R] or internal name - to recognise as stock) if dedicated plans where to deliver to: insert plans; (e.g. planned treatment technology, plans on yield / composition of fractions on base of e.g. tests, best estimations on final technologies to be used);  planned acceptor + remark ‘on stock’ (see above)

7 Output fractions at stock?
Case B) You don’t know where fraction will be delivered to ... if there are some plans / ideas where to deliver to & how to treat: insert plans / ideas + best estimations (see above);  insert e.g. ‘on stock – planned acceptor’ as acceptor no idea what to do: apply worst case scenario = disposal option;  insert e.g. ‘on stock – worst case’ as acceptor

8 What about end-of-waste fractions?
you have to fill up the WF-RepTool report until 100 % 100 % final fractions & their use! this is the base for R&R rates! you may use the WF-RepTool like for waste fractions  see example

9 Example end-of-waste fractions?
choose the name of the OUTPUT fraction (e.g. iron fraction 'pure') choose the 'intended final technology' (e.g. steel mill) provide composition data like for other fractions (e.g. Fe 100 %) choose the 'use in final technology' in the intended final technology (same like for other iron fractions, Fe > Fe recovery) = automatically classified proposal: use the term end-of-waste under the name of the acceptor (by doing this you may sum up all OUTPUT fractions having reached the 'end-of-waste' status in e.g. the 'Analyze' option)
