MALT©2006 Maths/Fractions Slide Show : Lesson 1
Well to work it out we divide the numerator by the denominator MALT©2006 Maths/Fractions Slide Show : Lesson 1
7
The bottom number always stays the same
Like this 3 16 5 1 5 This number becomes the numerator 16 ÷ 5 = 3 remainder 1 The bottom number always stays the same
8
2 Lets try another one 12 2 5 5 12 ÷ 5 = 2 r 2
This number becomes the numerator 12 ÷ 5 = 2 r 2
9
And another 6 1 3 17 3 This number becomes the numerator 17 ÷ 3 = 6 r 1
10
MALT©2006 Maths/Fractions Slide Show : Lesson 1
Another one 3 11 3 2 3 11 ÷ 3 = 3 r 2 MALT©2006 Maths/Fractions Slide Show : Lesson 1
11
Last one 4 23 5 3 5 23 ÷ 5 = 4 r 3
