1 Oral test – “Fame!” 6th GrADE

2 Instructions: The test is composed of 3 parts: Famous People
Direct Questions The Weekend. The test is in pairs chosen randomly by the teacher OR volunteers.

4 Part 1 – Famous people: Look at the following photos and pieces of information. Tell your teacher who that person was and what that person did in the past.

5 Charles chaplin (Be) Born in 1889. (Be) Actor
(Make) many films such as “Modern Life” and “City Lights” (Become) a director around 1920. (Keep) creating interesting films in the 1930’s.

6 Marilyn monroe (Be) Born in 1926. (Be) Actress.
(Spend) Much time of her life in an orphanage. (Have) a successful career as a model. (Get) a Golden Globe Award in 1959.

7 Nelson mandela (be) born in 1918. (speak) Xhosa language.
(go) on to become the first in his family to attend school. (take) classes in a one-room school. (spend) 27 years in prison.

8 Part 2 – direct questions.
PAIR UP. Read the words given and create a question in PAST SIMPLE for your classmate USING TIME EXPRESSIONS (you CAN’T repeat the time expression) Your classmate has to answer to the questions using short answers. Ex. do / the homework ? Student 1: Did you do the homework yesterday? Student 2: Yes, I did.

12 Part 3 – The weekend Ask your classmates what they did and they didn’t do at the weekend. Use 3 of the 5 verbs given.
