Introduction Marks a break in a sentence
Stronger than a comma, but not as strong as a period Semicolon goes where the first sentence should end, much like a comma and a conjunction

Uses Use a semicolon before a conjunctive adverb that joins the clauses of a compound sentence. Tim was declared the winner; however later it was found that he cheated.

Uses When commas occur within parts of a series, use semicolons to separate the parts. My family and I traveled to Atlanta, GA; Paris, France; and Mobile, AL.
