MVP Player of the Week Abigail Abby has been selected for this honor because of her amazing transformation. Abby has always been a take charge person , but now she is taking charge of her education and making sure assignments get completed and turned in on time. She has set some very challenging goals for term 3, and already we see the passion and determination put forth to execute the achievement of these goals. Dear Family Member: This week our class will focus on the different reasons people run for public office. We will also be discussing the distinctions between state and local governments. Here are some activities you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing. Word Workout Words to Know: idioms You will make up a sentence that uses a list word, but you’ll leave out the word. Your child will fill in the blank in the sentence. Then you and your child will try to use every word in one sentence. Spelling/Phonics: inflectional endings You will make a list of these endings: -ier, -ies, ied, -ily, and -est. Your child will spell a list word, underline the ending, and explain how he or she spelled the ending. Comprehension: point of view You and your child will read about several different historical leaders. Then write a short paragraph about one of them.
