NSF Smart Farm Project Goal: Data-driven platform to support farm decisions Funded by the National Science Foundation Partnership between multiple NDSU departments and agriculture-related businesses Data we can use Yield and quality, e.g. protein for wheat Applications data (fertilizer, pesticides, etc.) Crop management choices, e.g., variety, tillage, drainage, cover crops If available, data from optical sensors, soil tests, water level sensors Potential benefits of participation Tools that implement state-of-the-art soil / crop research, such as in-season estimate of yield, INSEY Tools to visualize and extract insights from collective data of all who participate Predictive modeling of yield, cost of potential management choices
