2 TENSES PRESENT TENSE. PAST TENSE. FUTURE TENSE.

3 PRESENT TENSE SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE. PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE. PRESENT PERFECT TENSE. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINOUS TENSE.

4 SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE The present tense indicates that an action is present, now, relative to the speaker or writer. Examples : 1. My teacher teaches me english Salam rarely visits his home town.

5 Present Continous Tense
It is used to express a continued or ongoing action at present time. It expresses an action which is in progress at the time of speaking.  EXAMPLE : 1. It is raining heavily. 2.I am writing a letter.

6 PRESENT PREFECT TENSE It is used to expressed an action which happened or completed in past but usually the action which happened or completed at a short time before now (near past) not a very long time before now. EXAMPLE: 1. Karishma has left. 2. I have known this boy for a long time.

7 Present Perfect Continuous tense
It is used to express a continued or ongoing action that started in past and is continued until now.  EXAMPLE: 1.I have been waiting for his call since morning. 2. Some has been knocking at the door for past ten minutes .

8 PAST TENSE SIMPLE PAST TENSE. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE. PAST PERFECT TENSE. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE.

9 SIMPLE PAST TENSE It is used to express an action that happened or completed in past, usually a very little time before speaking, or action which is just completed. EXAMPLE : 1. We used to come to this library very often. 2. Manu worked hard to succeed.

10 PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE It is used to express a continued or ongoing action in past, an ongoing action which occurred in past and completed at some point in past. EXAMPLE: 1.When rana arrived,Elizabeth was reading a book. 2.Hida was watching television when she heard a noise.

11 PAST PERFECT TENSE It is used to express an action which has occurred in past (usually, a long time ago) and action which has occurred in past before another action in past.  EXAMPLE: 1.Rose had come to this church ten years ago. 2.The bus started after we had reached the bus stop.

12 PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
It is used to express a continued or ongoing action that started In past and continued until sometime in past. EXAMPLE: 1. I had been waiting for him for one hour.      2.She had been playing chess since 7 O’clock.

13 FUTURE TENSE SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE. FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE.
FUTURE PERFECT TENSE. FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE.

14 SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE It is used to express an action which has not occurred yet and will occur after saying or in future. EXAMPLE: 1. If you ask Rahul, he will certainly help you. 2. We shall meet tomorrow in the canteen.

15 FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE
It is used to express a continued or an ongoing action in future.  EXAMPLE: 1.When I reached home mother will be cooking. 2.By this time next year, I shall be writing another book.

16 FUTURE PERFECT TENSE It is used to express an action which will occur in future and is thought to be completed in future.  EXAMPLE: 1.I shall have completed my work by that time. 2.Before you reach there, he will have left.

17 FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
It is used to express a continued or ongoing action that will start in future and is thought to be continued till sometime in future. EXAMPLE: 1.  I will have been waiting for him for one hour. 2.  She will have been playing football since 2015.
