The PHQ-9 comprised 9 questions scored from 0 to 3, with scores summated. Scores were interpreted as follows: 0-4, minimal depression; 5-9, mild depression; 10-14, moderate depression; 15-19, moderately severe depression; and 20-27, severe depression.
