2. Dave ft. J Hus – Samantha
The video for Dave’s song is featured by J Hus and was produced by Dir. Lx. This video is symbolic concept based as the song represents how one person can have two sides to them, they’re path through life (how things have changed), also shows their “softness” for women and attitude when it comes to gang activity. This is also the reason for the 2 chosen locations as the video was filmed at the church (which represents good) and estate blocks (usually associated with gangs). It is also about peoples needs and selfishness towards them as Dave says “I changed my number couple times cuh’ man kept callin’ me for things and man are hatin’ but they wavin’ when they saw me on the strip”. Even their attire at different locations represents people perception of them: for example when they are at the church they are dressed smart and sophisticated, however when they are stood outside the estate blocks they are wearing long, black parka coats with the hoods up. The audience of this song/music video would mostly be teenagers or young adults as the language used is mostly “street” which is informal so it would probably confuse older aged listeners. The genre of the video is comedy as throughout the video and the song they have a laugh. Also at the end of the video there are a couple of shots that went wrong throughout filming as they went wrong due to the rappers laughing. There are various camera angles used to film this music video. Such shots as worm’s eye, bird’s eye, canted and high have been used to capture the environment. Long shots, medium shots, medium close ups are used to capture the action and the movement of the artists and actors.

3. Jax Jones - House Work ft. Mike Dunn, MNEK
Jax Jones – real name Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo born on 25/07/1987 is an English DJ, record producer, singer, songwriter and remixer. He is best known for featuring on Duke Dumont's 2014 single "I Got U", peaking at number one on the UK Singles Chart, and his 2016 single "You Don't Know Me" featuring Raye, which has so far peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. The video for Jax Jones track is featured by Mike Dunn and MNEK, it was produced by Ozzie Pullin. This music video is narrative based as this is a club song which does not contain a lot of lyric – majority of the song repeats itself with “I call it house work 'Cause it's life work, Imma throw shapes, Feelin' the base to my feet hurt”. The song and the music video are both based on housework. This music video is definitely a comedy as the main character has got a bottle of “housework”, he swipes it over dirty dishes and they turn sparkling clean and pile up in the sink. Throughout the music video he also makes a lot of facial expressions that give away the fact that it is a comedy. There are various shots used to film this music video such as: long shot at the beginning of the music video to capture the action of the main character and the settings around him followed by a close up and big close up of his face to show the emotion. There is also a bird’s eye shot used to capture the characters euphoria of being surrounded by the housework. There is also a few extra long shots to capture the group dance at the end of the video. The lighting used to film the video is created by special lights as the storyline of the video represents an advert of the “housework” product.

4. Santan Dave - Black Box Freestyle
Santan Dave – real name David Santan Dave is an 18 year old South London rapper from Streatham and this freestyle was his debut appearance in May Santan Dave’s Black Box Freestyle is produced by This music video is performance based as freestyles are usually filmed live to show the unedited talent and emotion. This freestyle shows Dave’s views on his generation, his loyalty to his friends, family tragedies and comparisons of the past to the present. The genre of the video is a real life drama as the rapper is talking about real life events some of which are quite upsetting or disturbing. The video is filmed using standard multi camera set up which involves 3 cameras. The camera facing straight captures the body language and the set up. Two side cameras are placed on the each side and both capture close up shots to show the emotion of Dave’s face. To film this video there was artificial as the freestyle was filmed indoors in a music studio.

5. Comparisons and Final point
I am going to compare all three of the videos that I have analysed to help me get an idea of what a successful music video should be like. “Samantha” and “House Work” songs are very different one to another as they are different styles of music. Even though the videos are different in the visual way as the settings and acting is not alike, however the camera shots and movements are very similar as they both use various angles such as long, medium, close up and birds eye shots. The variety of shots makes it look better and more professional to deliver the message that the artist is presenting. Even though these videos are more metaphoric and are entertaining to watch, Dave’s “Blackbox” video is just as special for me as watching him telling his story live, seeing the emotion in his body language along with the sound of his voice. Both of Dave’s videos “Samantha” and “Blackbox Freestyle” are similar in the way that they are both quite dark in the way that there aren’t bright colours or funny faces involved like there are in “House Work” because of the style and the genre of the music video. Also both of Dave’s songs are focused on the lyrics, where’s Jax Jones is more focused on the actual music and the beat.
