Executive order An Executive Order is a directive, rule, or regulation that has the effect of law. The power to issue these orders, the ordinance power, arises from two sources: the Constitution and acts of Congress.

Pick one of the statements and respond to it as your bell ringer. These are questions that came up last year during Obama’s State of the Union address, but they are still something to think about> How do we give everyone a shot at opportunity? How do we make technology work for us instead of against us? How do we make America safe without being the policeman of the world? How do we make politics a good thing instead of a bad thing?
