By the guilt of sin Romans 3:23; James 2:10 By the effects of sin Isaiah 59:1-2; 48:22 By the enslavement of sin John 8:34; Titus 3:3 By the end result of sin Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8; Romans 3:23, 10; John 8:34 “All you who labor and are heavy laden…”

From the guilt of sin John 1:29; Romans 5:8-9; 1 John 4:10; Ephesians 1:7 From the effects of sin Doubt -> hope John 11:25; Revelation 14:13 Anxiety -> peace John 14:27; 16:33; Philippians 4:7 Fear -> love John 15:9; 1 John 4:18; Ephesians 3:19 Depression -> joy John 15:11; 1 Peter 1:8 “I will give you rest...you will find rest for your souls”

What Jesus requires in return... “Come to Me...” Matthew 18:2; Mark 12:37; Isaiah 43:3 “Take My yoke upon you” (yoke=discipleship) “Learn from Me” Luke 6:46-49 “My yoke is easy” 1John 5:3 “My burden is light” Philippians 2:12,13;4:13 We must become disciples of Jesus Christ!

How one accepts this invitation... It begins with baptism Matthew 28:19 For the remission of sins Acts 2:38; 22:16 Rising to newness of life Romans 6:3,4 It continues with learning and doing Matthew 28:20 Through the apostles’ doctrine Acts 2:41,42 Growing in grace and knowledge 2 Peter 3:18
