Review: What is Manifest Destiny? This week we will try out Warm-Up Checks as opposed to Warm-Up Sheets. Please use a regular sheet of loose leaf to write down the objective and warm-up.

5 The Explosion of the Maine, 1898
At 9.40pm on the night of February 15th, 1898 the United States battleship Maine, riding quietly at anchor in Havana harbour, was suddenly blown up, apparently by a mine, in an explosion which tore her bottom out and sank her, killing 260 officers and men on board. The Spanish were thought to be responsible, which led to the outbreak of war between Spain and the US.
