3. Theory x People do not like work. They try to avoid work.
People need direction.
People want security, not responsibility.

4. Theory y People do not dislike work; work is as natural as play.
People will exhibit responsibility to accomplish goal.
People accept and seek responsibility.

5. Styles of leadership:
Democratic style:
Resembles theory Y assumptions.
Leaders place members on the same level as themselves.
Creates a friendly environment.
Authoritarian style:
-resembles theory X assumptions.
Leaders feel that subordinates need direction.
Communcation is Key!

6. Lassies-faire style :
not similar to either theory X or theory Y.
Stands alone as a style of leadership.
Engages in minimal influence.
