2 Communication Committee
Communication Committee meets 3-4 times per year Our job is to investigate and implement a plan for both internal and external communication We are a committee of the Planning Council We welcome new members Current members of the Communication Committee are: Jane Torrance (LCPC) Emily Cassell (DAC) Kate Hallas (United Way) Kevin Clouthier (Open Doors) Jon Valentine (Big Brothers Big Sisters)

3 Internal and External Internal communication to and between members of LCPC, our committees and working groups External communication with community partners, funders, influencers and the general public There is always overlap

4 Goals - Internal To keep members informed, engaged, connected
Meetings, , minutes, phone calls, website, blog posts, social media Analytics - regular reporting of how we are doing on social media included in monthly planner’s report To offer professional development opportunities to members Social Media training Keep tutorials current on lanarkkids Provide group and/or one-on-one training by request

5 Goals - External To be a current and trusted source of information and to amplify our member’s messages Videos Campaign Encourage all members to complete their own video or ask for assistance Host the inventory of videos on lanarkkids (links to YouTube channel) Use the videos on social media to drive traffic to member agencies web sites Web site – pages and posts (blogs) Social media – facebook, twitter Press releases Newsletter

6 The Engagement Funnel An effective engagement strategy recognizes that your community will be involved in different ways and to different extents at different times. Define Who are we really trying to engage, and why, and what tools will we use Quantify How will we measure the engagement Deepen How will we deepen the engagement and encourage participation
