Entertainment as Indoctrination David Zokaites December 6, 2016
2
Watched a crime show on TV
Hardly matters which show (Major Crimes – White Lies) Quite alarmed with underlying message Maintain the status quo at all costs Civil rights scarcely exist Excessive police power, they're heroes Bad for democracy, great for dictatorship
3
Scene A – never speak out
Lawyer eloquently complained to police about violations of civil rights Promptly arrested Squelch public protest Silence the masses
4
Scene B – solitary confinement
Casual mention of solitary confinement as though it was normal Solitary confinement is torture per international treaty All too common in the USA Condemned by Amnesty International
5
Scene C – criminal search
Police wanted to search, steal apartment complex No real suspicion – no warrant Condemned the building Sent a SWAT team to evict tenants Display maximum force, terrify people
6
Scene D – police are heroes
Describe police officers as heroes Police are merely people doing a job Heroes, angels, devils only rarely Teach excessive allegiance to civil authority Reminiscent of the divine right of kings
7
Scene E – prisoner abuse
Needed cooperation (subservience) of a reluctant prisoner Bang him around, terrify him Assault as official strategy
8
Scene F – lying to a suspect
Suspects are not worthy of respect Any form of control is a good form If you lie to a suspect, who is next? Lie to a suspect, lie to the public, lie to a judge
9
Scene G – lying to the public
Citizens are to be controlled, not respected
10
Scene H – shock belt Accused outfitted with a shock belt
Remote-control taser Pre-trial punishment Portrays accused as dangerous Introduce the strategy and then it spreads Makes prisoner abuse all too easy No record of official assault and battery
11
Scene I – shoot to kill Police needed to disable active shooter
Shot him at least twice in the chest at close range One bullet would have disabled More is shoot to kill There are non-lethal alternatives
12
Multiple scenes $1,000,000 of missing weapons
Must be the Neo-Nazis – guilty unless proven innocent No evidence needed for detainment Unpopular groups do not deserve rights Who will be next to lose their rights?
13
Lessons imparted Not merely relaxing entertainment
Inoculate sheeple (sheep people) to losing rights Propaganda for police power Anything to defend status quo Police are heroes Civil rights do not exist
14
Lessons learned Sioux Falls PD does: Display excessive force
Arrest people exercising rights Assault – fear of attack Lie to people Right to trial does not exist for at least peddlers ordinance and project TRIMM
15
Recommendation Stop watching this garbage Get some exercise
Play with your kids Read a book Get a hobby
16
