2 The history of Russia is rich in significant events
The history of Russia is rich in significant events. At all times the heroism, courage Russian soldiers, the power and glory of Russian weapons were an integral part of the greatness of the Russian state. In addition to military victories, there are events worthy of being immortalized in folk memory.

3 In the Russian Federation establishes the following days of military glory of Russia (as amended December 1, 2014): January 27 - Day of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade (1944); February 2 - Day of the defeat of the Soviet troops of Nazi troops in the Battle of Stalingrad (1943); February 23 - the Day of Defender of the Fatherland; April 18 - Day of the victory of Russian soldiers of Prince Alexander Nevsky over German knights on Lake Peipus (Battle of the Ice); battle took place April 5, 1242; May 9 - Victory Day of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of (1945); July 7 - The Day of the victory of Russian fleet over the Turkish fleet in the Chesma battle; battle took place on June (July 5-7) in 1770; July 10 - Day of the victory of the Russian army under the command of Peter the Great over the Swedes in the Poltava battle; It occurred on June 27 (July 8) 1709; Aug. 9 - Day of the first in Russian history naval victory of the Russian fleet under the command of Peter the Great over the Swedes at Cape Hanko; It took place on July 27 (August 7), 1714; August 23 - Day of the defeat of the Soviet troops of Nazi troops in the Battle of Kursk (1943); 8 September - Day of the Battle of Borodino the Russian army under the command of Mikhail Kutuzov with the French army; It took place on August 26 (September 7) in 1812; September 11 - Day of Victory of the Russian squadron under the command of FF Ushakov over the Turkish squadron at Cape Tendra; It occurred on August (September 8-9) in 1790; September 21 - Day of Victory Russian regiments led by Grand Prince Dmitry Donskoy on the Mongol-Tatar troops in the Battle of Kulikov; It happened September 8, 1380; November 4 - Day of National Unity; 7 November - Day of the military parade on the Red Square in Moscow to mark the twenty-fourth anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution (1941); 1 December - the Day of Victory of the Russian squadron under the command of Pavel Nakhimov over the Turkish squadron at cape Sinop; there were 18 (30) in November 1853; December 5 - Day of the Soviet counterattack against the German fascist troops in the Battle of Moscow in 1941; Dec 24 - Day of the Turkish fortress of Izmail by Russian troops under the command of Alexander Suvorov; there were 11 (22) December 1790.

4 Features Dates of most battles that took place before the introduction of the Gregorian calendar in Russia in 1918, in the Act have been obtained by adding to the "Old Calendar" date of 13 days, that is, the difference between the new calendarist Old Calendar dates and what they have now. In other words, these dates are not actually marked on the new and the old style. The difference between the old and new style in just 13 days accumulated to the XX century. In the XVII century, the difference was 10 days, in the XIII century, there is no separation. Therefore, in historical science made other dates of these events, rather than the law. An exception is the Day of Military Glory, dedicated to the battle of chesma.
