ASSONANCE – repetition of vowels anywhere in the word CONSONANCE – repetition of consonant sounds anywhere in the word SCANSION -the dividing of verse (lines of poetry) into feet by indicating accents and counting syllables to determine the meter of a poem. METRICAL FOOT – a group of two or three syllables forming the basic rhythm
