3 LOCATION Langres Cheese is most commonly found in Champagne-Ardenne area in France. Champagne-Ardenne is one of the 27 regions of France. It is located in the northeast of the country, bordering Belgium, and consists of four departments: Aube, Ardennes, Haute-Marne, and Marne. The region is famous for its sparkling white wine.

4 TASTE & Service Langres, being a close relative of the Epoisses de Bourgogne cheese, is has a very strong smell to it. Though being very similar to that cheese, Langres has a very strong flavor, and is a bit saltier than Epoisses. Langres should be served with Salad and Red Wine or Champagne, and be eaten in minute quantities alongside these.

5 Other Facts Its name and origin comes from a town in Haute Mame.
Langres dates back to the 1700s but it was only admitted into the AOC in 1991. Ripening takes 5-6 weeks, and needs to be placed in humid cellars.
