1 According to the whc.unesco.org
there are 35 (27 cultural, 7 natural and 1 mixed) World Heritage Sites in India that are recognised by the UNESCO as of July 2016. First sites inscribed on the list in 1983 were Agra Fort, Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves and Taj Mahal. The last three new sites (pos. 03, 26, 35) have been added to the list in July, 2016.
