i Register Huntsville City Schools High School Pre-Registration Fair for Students and Parents Date: Saturday, February 28, 2015 Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Location: Lee High School (Theater area) Target Audience: Parents and Students in rising 9, 10, 11 & 12 Goal: Huntsville City Schools strives to prepare students to be college and career ready upon graduation from high school. In order to be college and career ready, high school course planning and selection is a critical piece of the puzzle. The i Register Fair will provide students and parents with the tools, information and guidance to make informed course selections that lead to a desired career path and college and career readiness.

These sessions are grade level sessions for students and parents.
i Register Sessions These sessions are grade level sessions for students and parents. 9th Grade - It’s All About That Base: Begin Building Your Foundation 10th Grade - What Makes You Successful? One Direction 11th Grade - Stay With Me: This Is An Important Year 12th Grade – Be Happy: Clap Along and Give it All You’ve Got! Each session is 30 minutes and will be repeated 2 times. Grade level sessions will provide students and parents with: Course options and graduation requirements for each grade level Advanced Placement and Honors Opportunities Developing a Plan for your Future

These sessions for students and parents are geared toward college and career readiness. Career Programs: It’s a New Day! Advanced Placement and Honors Courses: You Can Do It! College: Exploring My Options College Financial Aid: Money….$$$....Money….$$$ Freshman Academy: Success Strategies for 9th Graders Each session is 30 minutes and will be repeated 2 times.

Exhibits The following programs will provide students and parents with additional information in the form of informational handouts and have representatives on hand to answer questions. Aesthetics Advanced Manufacturing/Green Power Advanced Placement and Honors Courses Construction Culinary Arts Cyber Security Entertainment Technologies Freshman Academy International Baccalaureate/Magnet Programs JrROTC Microsoft IT Academy Project Lead the Way – Bio-Medical, Health Science, EMT Project Lead the Way – Pathway to Engineering Television Production

Additional Information
Each high school will conduct a Q & A session from 11:30 – 12:00 Transportation will be provided from Butler, Columbia, Grissom, Huntsville and Johnson High School Light refreshments will be provided by the Huntsville Council of PTA’s Possible drawing for door prizes
