21 WHY PURSUE A REFERENDUM NOW?
Costs & interest rates remain low. Taxes Directly Benefit Upper Freehold and Allentown residents. More cost-effective than ‘repair-as-we-go’ approach. Referendum is required to capture state funding. No guarantee that Debt Service Aid funding will be available in the future. Referendum reduces the impact on annual maintenance budget; allowing more funds for curriculum & programs. Local costs reduced overall by up to 40% State Debt Service Aid. Expected energy & cost savings.
