4 3. Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad
Harriet Tubman supported a secret route that escaped enslaved African Americans took; it became known as the “Underground Railroad.” Read article aloud. Hang timeline piece

5 4. John Brown’s Raid John Brown led a raid on the United States Armory (Arsenal) at Harper’s Ferry, Virginia. He was trying to start a slave rebellion. He was captured and hanged. Read article aloud. Hang timeline piece
