1. ISTANBUL
Istanbul, historically known as Constantinople and Byzantium, is the most populous city in Turkey and the country’s economic cultural and historic center. Istanbul is a transcontinental city in Eurasia, straddling the Bosphorus strait ( which separates Europe and Asia ) between the sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. It’s commercial and historical center lies on the European side and about a third of its population lives on the Asian side. Istanbul is one of the world’s most populous cities and ranks as the world’s 7th largest city proper and the largest Europan city.

Approximately million foreign visitors arrived in Istanbul in 2015, five years after it was named a European Capital of Culture, making the city the worl’ds fifth most popular tourist detination.

3. SULTANGAZI
Sultangazi is one of the Istanbul’s newer inner-city districts. Sultangazi is divided into three neighbourhoods: Habibler-Gazi- Sultançiftliği. This district’s population comprises mony ethnic mpnorities.

4. HABIBLER ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL
The school is located in Sultangazi,Istanbul. In our two-storey building we have administrative units and classrooms. We have 16 classes and there is a sport hall opposite the school. All classrooms are equipped with smart boards.
Habibler Anatolian High School was founded in 1986 as a primary school at first. In 1998 it became a highschool and in 2010 it became an anatolian high school. Entrance is determined by a povernmet controlled central examination each year. It is a school with a total of 521 students and 23 teachers.
Students have different fields; science-math, turkish-math and Language class. The classes are formed to prepare students for the university entrance examination.
Remaining in line with Atatürk’s reforms and principles in education, the goal of our school is to educate our children in the light of science and reason. Our objective is to preserve the foundation of the republic of Turkey. Our objective is to train students to get their strenght from knowledge and became self confident and progressive individuals respecting different opinions.

5. THE ACTIVITIES OUR SCHOOL
There is a hobby garden where students can grow vegetables next to the school. Especially in summer they can grow tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce etc. This is not a big garden but volunteer students can find a cleance to grow what they want.

There are 5 national holidays we celebrate during the education year. Students organize ceremany with their teachers and they read poems.

Students learn how to play guitar with their music teacher and if they wan’t they can sing songs. At the end of the year they have opportunities to perform on the stage in the graduation party. In our school garden we have traditional graduation party. They play guitar, sing songs and eat home-made foods. Also there is a choir.

Students draw pictures and do painting exhibitons on the walls of the school. They like seeing their paintings on the walls.

The school organizes knowledge competitions between classes they enjoy competitions.

There is a special education school for autistic children opposite our school. Sometimes the school organizes Daily visits to this school. Our students visits them, chats with them, do activities together with them. So they understand the importance of education. They leran how to belave them.

Especually in summers school organizes picnic- university visits historical excursions. They go to museums, cinemas, theaters Istanbul has lot of things to see. Students and teachers play bowling together.

Our literatüre teacher is keen on poems. So she likes organizing poetry evening once a yera. Students read a lot of poems with background music and dim light. It is really interesting. They love it very much.

14. THE ACTIVITIES OUR SCHOOL
Especually boys are interested in sports, Futsal,football,basketball and voleyball. Physical Education teacher organizes tournaments not only between classess in school but also between anothor schools in the district. Futsal is a variant of football played on a hard court, smaller than a football pitch and mounly indoors.

School organizes home-visits. Teachers go to student’s house to meet his/her parent and chat with them. Students like seeing their teacher at their home very much.

16. THE ACTIVITIES OUR SCHOOL
School organizes visits to ‘nursing home or rest home for the aged’. Students chat with them. Espeally old people like chatting with teenagers.

School gives awards to students who takes part in an activity or winners of the competitions, etc.

Sometimes the school organizes breakfast for teachers in order to be all together and chat.
