Became Top ranked student Attended Trinity College in Cambrige

4 Influence Newton’s school focused on teachings of Aristotle
Personally interested in Descartes, Galileo, Copernicus, and Kepler

5 Early Work In 1665, Newton discovered the Binomial theory.
Describes the algebraic expansion of powers of a binomial Developed infinitesimal calculus Did background work in calculus, optics, and laws of gravitation

6 Calculus Work Responsible for furthering the world of mathematics and calculus Newton’s identities, Newton’s method, etc. He classified cubic plane curves Approximated partial sums of the harmonic series by logarithms. Awarded for his work and elected Lucasian Professor of Mathematics
