Abraham feared Abimelech, and he almost lost his wife (Genesis 20:1-3).

Jacob took his fear to the Lord and got divine solution (Genesis 32:11-32).

Backsliding opens up the heart to the spirit of the devil
What does it mean that “an evil spirit from the Lord?”
It means God permitted the spirit to have its way in the life of Saul (Job 1:6-12)

Though anointed a king, he was still busy doing what he used to do, waiting patiently for its appointed time of fulfillment.
As a youth, he learnt how to play solemn music and God anointed him
