1 Ever wonder how your life differs from your grandparents or parents?
Maybe not but… Let’s take look anyway

2 All girls wore ugly gym uniforms

3 The TV took 5 minutes to warm up

4 Nearly everyone’s mom was home when kids got home from school

5 A quarter was decent allowance

6 Your mom wore nylons that came in 2 pieces

7 You got your windshield cleaned, oil checked, and gas pumped without asking, all for free AND you only paid 29 cents a gallon in the 50’s

8 Well paid dads brought home $600 a month (1950’s)

9 We had “PARTY” lines on our Home telephone (We all had home phones or no phone at all)
No one had a private line You’d pick up the phone & make sure your neighbor wasn’t talking. (The “original” conference call) There was NO call waiting

10 The men teachers wore ties everyday and the women had their hair done daily

11 They threatened to keep kids back a grade if they failed and they did

12 None asked for the car keys because they were always in the car, in the ignition and doors were never locked

13 Kids would lie on the grass look up and say, ‘That cloud looks like…”

14 Stuff came from the store without Safety caps and hermetic seals because no one had been poisoned yet

15 When the only weapons found at school was a SLING SHOT

16 When being sent to the principal’s office was NOTHING compared to the fate that awaited when you got home from school

17 They ACTUALLY sold….

21 What about Cars & Gas?? A Cadillac in the 50’s = $5,000
NOW = $60,000 plus Gas in the Mid 1960’s = $0.33 a gallon NOW = $3.59 a gallon

22 AND These DIDN’T EVEN EXIST in everyday homes
Microwaves Personal Computers Handheld Cell Phones The first were in a bag & weighed 3 lbs. Cassette tapes VHS, CD, DVD

23 Color TV Most families had black & white TVs Cable & Satellite TV Surround Sound – Home Entertainment Xbox, Nintendo, Home Video Games Digital clock radios Central Air & Heating.. Car air conditioning

24 Life has changed fast in 40 years….
I-anything (IPOD, MP3, etc) TEXT MESSAGES Coffee makers And MORE. Life has changed fast in 40 years…. Now, Can you imagine what things will change in the next 40 years? HOW WILL YOU CHANGE?
